Gift of the Heart Commitment
2026-2027 New Congregant

We’re working on updating this page. New information will be available soon, please check back shortly.

Gift of the Heart is a simple and pragmatic annual commitment structure that entrusts congregants to sustain Congregation Or Tzion next year and for the years to come.

Your Gift of the Heart pledge includes:

  • Membership dues
  • High Holiday seats for you and your immediate family members (up to age 23)
  • Yom Kippur appeal

A security fee of $180 will be assessed for each congregant household, and religious school, if applicable, will be funded primarily through tuition.

To sustain our facilities, programs, staff, and services in the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the synagogue budget is approximately $1.73 million – or $2,950 if divided amongst each congregant household. We trust that you will commit to an annual financial contribution that helps further Or Tzion’s livelihood.

Congregants making Gift of the Heart commitments of $3,600 or more will become members of the M’orot (Luminary) Society, the major gifts program of Congregation Or Tzion.

How Gift of the Heart Works

Each year, Or Tzion calculates an Equitable Share amount to help members understand what it takes, on average, to sustain our congregation’s clergy, staff, programs, and facilities.

For 2026-2027, the Equitable Share is $3,000 per household. Many members use this as a helpful guide when making their annual commitment. Some households give at or above the Equitable Share level. Some give below. No matter what, all who give to Congregation Or Tzion strengthen the community for everyone.

Every commitment matters.
